What does the food on the beach do when you buy it on yoville?

If you go to the beach there are two options, to fish or to buy food and bathing suits. I bought food and nothing really happend. I was wondering if something does happen?? (yoville is a game on facebook created by zynga) Thank you for answering!|||it used to be to give ur avatar energy. but since then they have changed it, you can only get energy from the coffees ur neighbors send you,|||nothing happens lol.....its just to feed your person.
