What food do you recommend for a kitten with a sensitive stomach who has been vomiting his food up ?

I have two kittens, brothers , 17 weeks old now. They were neutered five days ago. I chnaged their brand of cat food several weeks ago. Yesterday, one kitten starts to vomit after he eats the new dry cat food and it has continue today. What is the best wet and dry food to give him ? Could he have developed an allergy to the new food and ittook two weeks for it to show symptoms ? Also, when they were neutered, they were given their first rabies shot and their last distemper shot for the year. Could that be why he is sick ? They were neutered on 7/18/2007. Any suggestions and shared experiences reagrding you kitten/cat vomiting and food recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.|||When you change from one food to another you should do so slowly. I have even been told that this also applies to th same brand food when you change. This might be part of the problem although I would have expected it to have been a bit sooner. How are his stools? If they are loose or you notice any blood in them I would get a sample to the Vet ASAP. I would call the vet anyway to tell them what is going on. You never stated where you got these kittens from. If the kitten has something that might be contagious then your other kitten may get it too. It doesn't take long for small animals to loose weight and a pound is lots for a kitten.





I had a problem with my 15 year old cat a few years ago where he was loosing weight, he lost 2 pounds in about a year. We did several tests and all came back ok. I switched his food to Purina One Chicken Rice with Yogurt. He has now gained his weight back plus a little more. The Vet was very pleased..... Good Luck|||He shouldn't be vomiting this long after surgery. I would go back to the old food you were using and see if the vomiting stops. If so, then there is something in the new food he can't tolerate--a sensitivity to something. Allergies take time to develop. If he continues to vomit, then have him checked by the vet again--could be a number of conditions. I take it they've been checked a few times for parasites and dewormed as well?|||animals usually vomit or get sick when you change there food on them you have to gradually change it becuase there stomachs may not be used to it. I feed my kitten purina kitten chow. They love it and its not to expensive
