What is the food like at resorts in Cuba?

I am planning on going to a resort in Cuba next March, but I am worried about the food since I am an extremely picky eater. I like Italian food and fresh, non-tropical fruit. Is this possible? In general, what is their food like?|||Do absolutely reserve a 4-star or more hotel, as the main difference on "stars" is often the quality of what you eat. Personally I went to Barcelo Solymar (spanish chain) in Varadero and eating there was a pleasure, better than at home! Beef, pork, chicken, eggs, potatoes, rice, fish and seafood, prepared in a hundred of different meals plus a lot of delicious desserts. But for fruits, I don't remember having seeing any non-tropical fruit they would have to import from outside (and imagine the problem to have them fresh).

Their coffee was great so much we asked them what's this coffee, they just answered it is an "italian coffee". Meanwhile I tried to buy some italian coffee back at home but I have not found that incredible taste.

One of the resort's 脿-la-carte restaurants was an italian restaurant but we didn't try it, but the two others (restaurants) were great.

There are maybe also "Italian hotels" in Cuba, it would be your solution if they exist.|||as long as you select at least a four star resort you will be well fed.My favorite resort in Cuba is Sol Melia Rio Luna y Mares. You fly into Holguin then it's about an hour by bus to Guardalavaca where the resort is located. It offers a terrific white powder beach, great staff, good dining , lots to do, much of which is at no extra cost such as hobiecats, paddle boats, horseback riding. Check the links below for lots of info especially the reviews on trip advisor. Chances are you go once, you'll be back.
