What food should I buy for just 2 days dinner, breakfast and packed lunch?
I am going away for the weekend(Friday night, Saturday night and leaving Sunday afternoon) We don't have much money so we need to buy food in a grocery store, we want to make our own dinners(2 nights in total) and we need to make a packed lunch every day too. And breakfast. What should we buy? We don't want to buy anything we won't use up, it would be a waste of money and food. Thank you.|||Bread and eggs. You can have them boiled, fried, poached or make an omlette with toast and also make some french toast. Packets of pasta in sauce or savoury rice is quick, cheap and easy to make. Buy a packet of meat and some salad for sandwiches. You could also buy a tin of hotdogs and some rolls.|||I would buy a whole roasted chicken from the grocery (most of them sell them now days) and several types of salads from the deli. You would then have dinner for Friday night. You would also need to buy some large flour tortillas, shredded cheese, salsa. Take the left over chicken off the bones and shred it with your fingers. Mix in some of the shredded cheese and salsa. The next morning roll up the mixture in the tortillas adding more salsa if you like. You can eat these for breakfast and for lunch, add some chips and a piece of fruit and you have a full lunch. If you have access to a microwave nuke them for a short time 30-45 seconds (wrap them in paper towels before nuking). You could also buy some deli meats like turkey or ham and make roll up with them for you breakfast or lunch and save the chicken for your 2nd dinner.|||You cant go wrong with pancakes for breakfast. One box will make like 50 and its like 2.50 for a box|||Ramen noodles and bologna and cheese!
