What kind of food are you supposed to give to a 2 month old puppy?

I have a 2 month old puppy, she is a cross between chihuahua and a mini fox terrier. I have been feeding her boiled chicken and rice like the vet has instructed me, but recently she has been rejecting it probably because she is bored of it. However, she absolutely goes crazy for the food that we eat at the table. What kinds of foods am I not supposed to give her? I don't want to make her sick.

Thanks|||puppy food... talk to a vet for your best brand and all|||Give her a puppy chow of high quality and add a little water to soften it. NO onions, Chocolate or grapes,|||A good quality puppy chow ....

don't feed her off the table. It's a bad habit to start.|||Don't start giving her table food that can bring about all sorts of horrible habits. Keep giving her what the vet instructed she'll eat when she's hungry or get a good puppy food and let her try that...she'll probably want to stick with the chicken and rice. Keep her away from chocolate, onions...especially cooked. they are both toxic.|||At two months (8 weeks) she will do fine with regular dry puppy kibble. I recommend avoiding the cheap stuff like Iams, Science Diet and whatnot. It's mostly crap (lots of corn, which is indigestible) and might not be ideal for a picky eater. Nutro (available at most pet stores) is of pretty good quality and most dogs I know LOVE the hell out of it.

As far as what not to give you dog, do NOT ever give your dog chocolate, onions, raisins or uncooked bread dough. I'd recommend not feeding the dog from the table, or else she might get in the habit of begging for food and expecting you to feed her whenever she wants it.|||puppy chow, the little bites... im sure a dog would like dog food... I don't think its healthy to give animals people foods all the time because they need more protien than we do... umm, offer like a cup twice a day... critters always appreciate good treats. Good luck.|||Unless you plan on feedng her people food all the time, I suggest stopping now or you'll have a beggar for sure, talking from experience....the best dog food for her now would be Iams smart puppy food, not the one for large breeds, check the bag. It has all the vitamins etc that she needs.|||buy nutro's lamb and rice dry kibble at a pet food store and mix a little into the rice and chicken and feed 3x a day only 1/2 cup each time.you may have to crush the kibble but dont soak it .dogs like and need crunchy kibble .keeps teeth in good shape .plus this food is great for digestion and shiny coat.|||An 8 week old pup should be on regular kibble, soaked in water to soften it. You should take the chicken and rice and mix in water soaked kibble and over a week convert that to all water soaked kibble. The kibble should be high quality puppy food. Use a snall bite kibble this make it easier to eat. Then over the next 2 weeks lessen the water in the food. After 12 weeks the pup will be on regular kibble|||At 8 weeks, the pup should be able to eat puppy food. I would suggest a good quality puppy food. Good ones are Nutro, Candiae, Wellness, Natural Balance. These are all very good foods made with high quality, human grade foods. If you continue to feed from the table, any type of meat is OK, rice, potatoes and corn, peas, green beans. I would not feet much else. They can also have blueberries and cranberries. It really is just easier to feed the dog premade dog food. Good quality ones have all of he protein, veggies and nutrients that they need.|||CHOCOLATE big no no for one! Also onions can harm dogs too. As for what to feed her, I am going to assume she had the runs or wasn't able to go very well that's why she was eating rice and boiled chix. Depends on how active she is ofcourse it will be puppy food. There are all kinds of good dog foods, I've always fed my dogs Purina or Pedigree. Now recently I have a small Toy Poodle and the pedigree small breed just wasn't enough for her it wasn't sticking to her or filling her up and she was losing weight, so I started to add rice to her food it filled her up better.

Now, if you choose to put your pup on puppy food I would do it slowly if all she's had is the rice and chix mix the food with it.|||This is an extremely small pup and young, too,

feed it as the vet said. It needs a proper diet.|||check this one out...hope it helps
